The Harding pattern has perennially ranked among the most popular in the Pendleton line. Introduced in the 1920s, it remains in the company catalog today. One of these sunset-hue blankets, named for Warren G. Harding, was given to the president’s wife at a ceremony dedicating the Old Oregon Trail on July 2, 1923. It’s also historic in that this is the only trade-blanket pattern ever attempted to be copyrighted.
