July 25–28: New York Antique Jewelry and Watch Show, New York City

The New York Antique Jewelry and Watch Show will feature more than 100 antique jewelry dealers exhibiting designer and estate pieces. The show, held at the Metropolitan Pavilion on West 18th Street, was well received when it debuted last year. This year, the variety of objects will include 19th-and 20th-century works by Cartier, Tiffany, and other legendary jewelry makers.
August 15–20: Santa Fe

Two back-to-back shows are a must for any lover of American Indian and tribal art. From August 15–17, stroll the 150 booths of the 25th Annual Antique Ethnographic Art Show, and see everything from pre-Columbian to African relics, paintings, and more. From August 18–20, the 30th Annual Invitational Antique Indian Art Show takes place with wonderful displays of Southwestern pottery and textiles, Plains beadwork, Great Lakes artifacts, and much more. Both shows take place at El Museo Cultural de Santa Fe.

August 1–3: August Antiques Show, Nantucket, MA

Some 40 dealers will display their wares at the August Antiques Show, now in its 31st year. The show, which benefits the Nantucket Historical Association, seems more like a series of parties in this seafaring town, with a lecture on July 29, a preview party on July 31, and the show itself on August 1, 2, and 3. Dealers include specialists in such suitably Nantucket fare as antique scrimshaw and Chinese export porcelain, plus many other fine antiques.
August 8–10: Newport Antiques Show, Newport, RI

Held just a few hundred yards from the Atlantic Ocean, the Newport Antiques Show will feature fine antiques dealers from across the country. The show is held indoors, on the campus of St. George’s School, perched high above the ocean. The show benefits the Newport Historical Society, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County.
August 27: Coastal Maine Antiques Show, Damariscotta, ME

The Coastal Maine Antiques Show is a one-day show held mid-week, leaving your weekends free to lie on the beach (or head to other shows). Exhibitors include members of the Maine Antiques Dealers Association, so there is sure to be a wide variety of offerings, from antique signs to Shaker furniture. The indoor-outdoor show is held at Roundtop Farm, from 9:30 to 4. |
