Head to Burlington, Vermont, for foliage and antiques at the Lake Champlain Antiques Show, held at the Burlington Sheraton Exhibit Center. Some 75 dealers will offer an eclectic mix of antiques and art. The show’s new venue this year (it was held in previous years at a fairground) will help attract even more top quality dealers.

Now in its 25th year, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts’ Annual Antiques Show & Sale features top antiques dealers specializing in everything from stoneware, folk art, and painted furniture, to Arts and Crafts decorative objects and 20th-century jewelry. The show raises money for the institute’s acquisition fund for decorative arts. On Friday and Saturday, from 1:00 to 4:30, the show will include “Dealer Talks,” where selected dealers will give informal 15-minute talks on the objects in their booths. The show takes place at the Zuhrah Shrine Center at the Harrington Mansion, just three blocks from the MIA; $10 admission.
October 30-November 2: Tailgate Antiques Show in Nashville, Nashville, TN

The Tailgate Antiques Show in Nashville is known for its casual atmosphere—with dealers setting up in the parking lot of the Fiddlers Inn, as well as in hotel rooms. Nearly 200 dealers with a wide range of antiques—country, rustic, silver, pottery, and folk art—make this show a good bet for everyone from the new collector to the expert. The show is part of Country Home magazine’s Antiquing Festival, which recognizes top shows throughout the country.
