The college-football-loving fans of your household might warm to antiquing in November if you describe these two major shows as the Big East Conference.
Nov. 2-4: Ellis Antiques Show, Boston
Now in its 48th year, the Ellis Antiques Show is held in the heart of Boston, at The Castle at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel, in the tony Back Bay neighborhood. Some 35 dealers of fine antiques will display their wares. Such headliners of the New England antiques world as Northeast Auctions and Skinner Inc. will sponsor various events during the show including lectures and a Young Collectors Night (Nov. 2).
Nov 9-11: Delaware Antiques Show, Wilmington
With 60 of the country’s most distinguished dealers in American antiques, furniture, paintings, rugs, porcelain, silver, jewelry, and other decorative arts, the 44th Delaware Antiques Show will have plenty to offer the antiques enthusiast. In addition, designer and author Bunny Williams will give a keynote speech on Nov. 9, and there will be a loan exhibition of historic American parade flags. The show benefits educational programs at Winterthur.
