4. GARDEN ORNAMENTS

What are they? English and French stone ornaments meant to adorn estate gardens from about 1680 through 1940.
How much will I pay? Simple, clean-line pieces—our favorites (shown with dealer Tracey Young)—are valued from $325 to $850, though some elaborate stone carvings range in the tens of thousands of dollars.
Display ideas: At least a third of Young’s garden ornament inventory ends up indoors. “They have a timeless appeal and blend with any decor, from modern to 15th century,” she says.
