Marney grows her herbs in easy-to-pick raised beds. Lovage, tarragon, sage, parsley, chives, and oregano, plus alpine strawberries, grow beneath fragrant lilac standards. To cut down on weeding, Marney uses big, gray flat stones with brick paths mixed in. An added plus to using the stone: It makes a great surface for pushing vegetable-filled wheelbarrows.
