Don’t forget our feathered—and furry—friends when thinking organic. Most commercial birdseed uses chemicals and oils to make seeds shinier. Look for all-natural wild birdseed when filling bird feeders. Our favorite: Cole’s Wild Bird Feed’s all-natural mixes. They look so good, we’re tempted to nibble ourselves.
SUNFLOWER MEATS are mess-free (no shells); perfect for balconies and decks.
RAW PEANUTS are higher in fat and protein and a favorite with titmice, nuthatches, wrens, and woodpeckers.
CRITTERMUNCHIES-a combination of yellow corn, sunflower seeds, peanuts in the shell, and raw peanuts-give squirrels, chipmunks, and rabbits a tasty treat.
HOT MEATS attract songbirds but repel critters with a combination of sunflower meats and hot chili pepper.
SUET NUTS (peanuts covered in all-natural berry suet) are a delicacy for songbirds.
NUT BERRY SUET with peanuts, pecans, cherries, apple slices, and insect suet kibbles will host a party of bluebirds, warblers, robins, and woodpeckers.
