Our genuine junkers, Sue Whitney and Ki Nassauer, raided their cabinets (and a few flea markets) to craft five usable projects out of everyday kitchen objects. Check out the May 2007 issue for all five projects. Here is detailed how-to for three:
HANGING STORAGE
materials you’ll need:
Awl
Hammer
Rust-Oleum metal primer
Gloss enamel spray paint
“S” hooks
Small chain
Pliers

Step 1: Use an awl or large nail to punch three holes, evenly spaced around the edge of each tin.
Step 2: Prime the tins with Rust-Oleum metal primer. Let dry.
Step 3: Spray paint a favorite color. Let dry.

Step 4: Attach a small chain with “S” hooks through one hole of each tin, starting with the largest pan.
Step 5: Squeeze the “S” hooks shut with pliers
Step 6: Repeat steps 4 and 5 with the second and third holes.
Step 7: Gather all three chains at the top and put through a larger “S” hook.
Step 8: Hang the project from a strong, reinforced hook in the ceiling. |
