The design of this bouquet is straight from the Victorian era, when ladies carried small, scented bouquets, called tussie-mussies, to freshen the air around them. Today’s version relies on the tussie-mussie style of tightly bound stems and includes a robust combination of springtime hues. Pink tulips, purple hyacinth, and blue grape hyacinth are highlighted by white elements, such as lily of the valley and hydrangea blooms, as well as a paper doily-like cuff. Ask your florist to make one for you, and place it in a tumbler full of quenching water next to your bed.
