Dress the table for the season with a custom linen runner. Cut fabric to fit your table, hemming the edges with fabric glue or iron-on fusible webbing. Adhere grosgrain ribbon borders using the same no-sew technique. At each end of the runner, allow enough drape to feature a design like this wreath of leaves. To get a circle guide, Matthew lightly traced around a bowl with a pencil. Then he used various leaf stamps (from a crafts store), including oak, maple, and beech, to create a wreath. He pressed the stamps in fabric inks of gold, russet, and green hues, then pressed them firmly to the linen surface. |
