Scrapbook paper
Double-sided tape
Decorative-edge scissors
Black ribbon or cording
1/8-inch hole punch
Small beads (optional)
Cut scrapbook paper for the desired envelope size and shape, allowing 1/2 inch for a center back overlap and for a bottom flap. Fold the paper into a tube, overlapping the center back edges 1/2 inch. Secure the overlap with double-sided tape. Fold up 1/2 inch at the bottom and tape the flap in place. Trim the open end with a decorative-edge scissors. Tie ribbon or cording around the bag near the open end. To close the bag, make two accordion folds near the open end, then punch two holes 1/4 inch apart centered in the folded area. Thread cording through the holes, tie, and add a bead to each end.
