The age-old papier-mâché technique turns a balloon into a pumpkin by the stroke of midnight. Blow up a balloon and tie it off. Dip strips of orange tissue paper in water-thinned Mod Podge. Wrap the strips around the balloon until it's covered. When the strips have dried, pop the balloon with a pin. Cut features of a jack-o'-lantern face from black paper and hot-glue them onto the pumpkin. Twist a piece of black paper into a stem and hot-glue it to the top. Finally, cut two leaves and attach them to either end of a 1-1/2-inch-wide strip of paper; wrap the leaves around the stem. Display the pumpkin on an urn, a vase, or atop an overturned flowerpot.
